Santorini Greek Island Grill Reviews

Underrated campus dining option. Located in the UCEN upstairs, there are quick & affordable options of gyros, mediterranean plates, & it's all healthier choices compared to other places at UCSB. I will miss this place since I graduated, it was my go-to & the workers were the sweetest. Support them! They work so hard!

Actually not closed as Yelp says it is. Solid Greek food in the UCen! A good and healthy choice for lunch.

It was surprisingly sooo good.. the meat on the salad was delicious & the guy working there was really nice too!

Hands down, the best restaurant on the UCSB campus in terms of quality, variety, and value. Santorini is my favorite place to stop for greek food, and actually one of the few good mediterranean options in Santa Barbara. Their vegetarian platter, which includes a generous portion of dolma, falafel, hummus, and spanakopita, is excellent. With a side of their freshly-chopped greek salad, this makes a very satisfying meal. Their gyro sandwiches and salads are worth a try. While their grilled chicken can be a bit dry, it has good flavor as well. The little team that runs Santorini has a positive attitude and are always friendly. I love stopping by because both their food and service impress me. If you're on the UCSB campus and want food that is flavorful and a step above typical college fare, Santorini is the place to go.

This is the best restaurant on campus. There's also a few locations in San Diego, which made me sad because I thought we were special to have this place. It's located in the UCen, and it shares floor space with Romaine's. There's plenty of tables and booths inside, but it does get crowded during meal times. There's also tables in the UCen, as well as a patio area. The prices are pretty high, but the portions are great. I got the Santorini platter, which has meat, sausage, two wings, pita bread, and two sides. Everything tastes great and is well-cooked. The meat is juicy and tender. I'm not a big fan of the wings, I find it a little dry. They also have fries, which are pretty tasty. My favorite Greek food item is pita bread. They don't make it as nice as the bread at Daphne's, but it comes close. Service is top-notch. The workers are very quick and pleasant. Even when the line gets long, the service I receive does not change. Great food, great establishment.

I'm very happily surprised by Santorini's! This restaurant is in the UCEN of UCSB and unique as there aren't many Mediterranean cuisines in this area. I wasn't going in expecting much since it is a restaurant on campus but it exceeded my expectations! I got the gyro plate and it includes the meat, 2 sides (I chose veggies and salad) there is also rice and fries, and a pita bread cut into 4 pieces. Please look at the images as they have photos of this meal. The meat is VERY tender and well flavored. It tastes as it has been marinated for a long while and care was put into this dish. The side salad was delicious and I'm a huge fan of the grilled veggies that holds a lot of flavor as well. the plate is very filling and all this for $8.07 including tax! As this is located in the UCEN where there is a lot of traffic during the lunch hour, the service is very fast and efficient. Overall I'll definitely be back and I want to try their $1 Wednesday breakfast special from 7-9!

Today's the first time I tried out this place. Suffice to say I scrutinized the food a bit more than I should have. Nonetheless IT WAS GOOD! Service was fast and friendly, and the food's super fresh and good for low-carb diets (forget about the pita in this review). Anyways for lunch, I ordered the $7.50 ($9 with taxes) Souvlaki Platter 1+ 1 with Chicken and Sausage gyro. It come with 2 sides (I got salad w/ feta and roasted veggies for the low-carb thing, you can also get rice or fries as well), pita bread quarters (I didn't eat these, but I did give these away!), as well as the tzatziki and red vinegar/oil sauces, separate from the main entreé. For the most part, I was satisfied with the meal. The gyros sausages were absolutely tender and delicious. GET THE GYROS if you come here. The chicken was good, where I can bite into the skewers to find clear juices running out. However it does not beat the gyros. There's grease on the sausage gyros (There isn't much on the chicken), but as a high-fat/low carb ketogenic person, this was fantastic, especially since you can dip your food into the red vinegar olive oil that they give you! I didn't get kicked from Keto from the gyros, so that implies that they probably use 100% meat and not some substitute for their gyros! Much of the menu is for high fats/low carb diets and I'd say if you want a low fat place to eat, go somewhere else. S/O to the tzatziki sauce for being SO GOOD. This food will make you thirsty though, dressings have a bit of a bite and saltier for some people, keep in mind that. Also, I know the people there can answer questions because this girl in front of me asked if Apple Pay is accepted here, which is not available now, but could be added later according the the cashier. It's good to see the staff answering questions. The prices for the big plates are on par with what to expect for the portions, so expect me to be back again.

This place lives up to its rating in my opinion. It's on-campus in the student center, and my boyfriend and I were here by default because it was the only place open. We were quite hungry and were still pleasantly surprised by the taste of the food. Portions are generous. We shared a gyro pita combo with Greek salad. The salad dressing and tzatziki sauce it came with were tasty and complemented the food well. The gyro meat was well-seasoned and melt-in your-mouth juicy. There was plenty for us to share (though neither of us have big appetites) plus a bottomless drink all for the bargain price of $12. Overall, I would come here again if I were visiting UCSB. This is a great fast casual dining spot with friendly staff!
